About Me

Growing up in New York City, I knew early on that I wanted to own a home. After a few years of traveling and being on the road, I was ready to settle down. Like many my age, I didn’t think I’d ever be in a position financially to afford a home. However, after learning about the many programs available to new homeowners and a few years of saving, the dream of homeownership became a reality in the spring of 2020.

As the first member of my family to own a home, I quickly learned how much work goes into maintaining it. During those initial couple of years of homeownership, I tried to absorb all the knowledge and information I could. I wanted to properly care for this home that I had worked so hard to get.

Over time, as I met other homeowners, I realized how many of us had never learned some of these essential things involved in maintaining a home and how overwhelming it could be. Consequently, I started to develop a system to assist not only myself but also those in my position. That’s how the weekly home check was born. I continue to learn more every day from others, and maintaining my home has become such a meaningful part of my life.
